Diabetes Insulin Pump Therapy Clinics

The IPTP clinics provide education and support for Albertans of all ages living with type 1 or type 3 diabetes who want to start using an insulin pump. An insulin pump is a small device a person wears that supplies a continuous flow of rapid-acting insulin underneath the skin. It is a way to get insulin instead of injecting insulin many times a day. It is about the size of a deck of cards and gives insulin through a small flexible tube that goes under the skin. There are insulin pumps with and without tubing.

Albertans who meet the eligibility criteria can be eligible for funding through the Government of Alberta’s Insulin Pump Therapy Program. See Provincial Insulin Pump Therapy Program for information.
