Description
Offers outreach supports and groups for individuals affected by family violence.

Service provides:

  • outreach supports and groups at the community outreach office, the emergency shelter, or with outreach staff at the Medicine Hat Police Station (when safety may be a factor)

Includes:

  • a 24-hour helpline
  • 1-on-1 outreach support for individuals affected by family violence, including information about family violence and support to access services in the community
  • groups for women, children, youth, and men who have been impacted by family violence
  • Safe Families Intervention Team (SFIT) - outreach workers and police officers collaborate to provide a co-ordinated and consistent response to families in need of intervention and community referrals
  • information for friends and family over the phone or in person at the community outreach office
Affiliation: Safe Families Intervention Team (SFIT) partners with Medicine Hat Police Services.
