Description
Provides a free 10-week, after-school program for youth in grades 7 to 12.

Service offers:

  • a free after-school program for youth in grades 7 to 12 that runs for 2 hours per week for 10 weeks, with a maximum class size of 15 youth
  • offered in spring and fall

Includes:

  • information
  • interactive exercises
  • classroom discussion
  • guest speakers
  • assistance in organizing and supervising volunteer opportunities

Topics include:

  • leadership
  • teamwork
  • problem solving and decision making
  • managing conflict
  • diversity
  • personal wellness
  • communication
  • planning and organizing
  • leisure education
  • public speaking

Youth must each complete a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer community service in order to graduate and receive a certificate.
