COVID-19 UPDATE 09-08-2021: COUNSELLING CURRENTLY BEING OFFERED VIRTUALLY, MAY OFFER IN-PERSON IF NEEDED. FACE MASKS, COVID-19 SCREENING AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED IN FACILITY. Provides programs at the emergency shelter and in the community for families with children and youth who have experienced or witnessed family violence and abuse.

Service offers:

  • early childhood professionals available for all children to provide tools to cope with trauma
  • individual counselling for the child/youth 
  • family counselling with parent(s) and child
  • play based therapy for children and families
  • parenting support for mom and/or dad and specialized childcare for children for parents to attend appointments when required 
  • financial literacy for parents 
  • ages and stages developmental screening 
  • multi-sensory room experience with child and parent
  • navigation of community resources
