Responds to matters related to the safety and security of individuals on campus.

Service provides:

  • respond to matters related to the safety and security of individuals on campus

Includes:

  • response to calls of individuals at risk of harming themselves or others, suspicious people on campus, disturbances, break-ins, theft, vandalism / mischief, alarm response, harassment, fraud, mental health breakdown, and persons in need of general assistance
  • assistance to police, fire, and ambulance / Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with incidents on campus
  • public education services - provide education on crime prevention topics for students and staff
  • Traffic Safety Enforcement
  • Community Assistance Team (CAT)
  • special programs include: lost and found, special duty services, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), victim and witness assistance and support, lone worker program, controlled goods program
  • peace officers who conduct patrols, general incident response, traffic safety enforcement, and enforcement of provincial Acts
  • security agents posted at various campus locations
  • investigators who conduct Code of Student Behaviour investigations and threat assessments, including sexual misconduct
