Includes:

  • Mentor Program - providing trained adult mentors to work in schools with students from grade 1 to grade 8 who have been identified by school counsellors as needing extra support in social / emotional skills and succeeding in the school environment
  • Heart of the Matter (HOM) - a 5 week support workshop held at schools during school hours to help young people who are dealing with the complex feelings associated with divorce or separation by teaching them tools to adapt to their family changes and build resilience
  • Students Assisting Student Program (SASP) - where school staff select and train student leaders as SASP Reps, offering confidential, non-judgmental peer support to other young people in times of crisis
  • Summer Rec Program (SRP) - a drop-in day camp for kids aged 7 to 11, where youth aged 12 to 16 can apply to become Junior Mentors and gain volunteer experience, providing all participants opportunities to learn and teach how to treat one another with respect
  • Community Helpers Program (CHP) - a peer support program consisting of a series of training modules that provide discussion and insight on topics such as conflict resolution, healthy relationships, depression, suicide, self-care, and helping skills
