Description
Provides support for chronically homeless individuals who suffer from major mental illnesses or struggle with the justice system.
***Cannot help with emergency housing

Service offers:

  • housing assistance using the Housing First model
  • integrated approach to healthcare called Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) consisting of a team of medical, mental health, justice, and substance abuse specialists
  • substance use support
  • cooking group
  • computer skills training
  • vocational / employment assistance
  • justice walk-in clinic
  • recreational and social activities


Affiliation: Calgary Homeless Foundation, Safe Communities Opportunity and Resource Centre (SORCe)
Key Provider: justice specialists, mental health specialists, nurses, physicians, and substance abuse specialists
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to individuals:
  • age 18 and older
  • diagnosed with a mental illness
  • experiencing homelessness for at least six months

  • contact 211 for details 
  • visit SORCe at 316 7 Ave SE Calgary to ask for a referral
