  • benefit amount varies based on family situation. Factors such as income, spouse/partner income, number of children, age of children, and shared custody situations affect the amount of payments
  • payments are generally issued on the 20th of every month, except for December when they are issued on the 13th. If a payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, the payments are issued on the last working day before the issuance date

Families receiving AISH, Income Support, and the child care subsidy are also eligible to receive the Canada Child Benefit without effecting eligibility for those programs.
