Service offers:
- a 6 session parenting class for immigrant / refugee parents
Includes:
- investigating how to parent effectively in the Canadian context while drawing strength from one's own ethnic identity
- finding ways to build relationships with your children in trusting and supportive ways
- discovering opportunities to effectively communicate in both the family and community context
- exploring parenting strategies and problem solving with others
- learning about positive discipline and how to apply it in parenting
- increasing awareness about family violence
- strengthening support networks
- childcare and snacks
- a certificate for participants who attend all 6 sessions
