Select and Appoint Processes

Service provides:

• assistance to individuals or organizations in finding a mediator or arbitrator with specialized knowledge in the field of the dispute to help resolve a disagreement such as a contract dispute

Includes:

• Construction Adjudication Prompt Payment - ARCANA Services - provides the construction sector and the public with quick, accessible, affordable, and enforceable Determinations and Orders

• individuals or organizations in dispute
• who are required or willing to go to arbitration or mediation
• and who want an independent third party to help them find a qualified mediator or arbitrator

• submit a request by phone or e-mail
• additional information available on website

A shortlist is usually provided within 5 business days.

$500.00 fee for claims under $10,000.00; $800.00 fee for claims between $10,000.00 and $75,000.00; $1200.00 fee for claims between $75,000.00 and $150,000.00; $2500.00 fee for claims between $150,000.00 and $500,000.00; $4000.00 fee for claims between $500,000.00 and $5,000,000.00; $5000.00 fee for claims over $5,000,000.00. Fees are doubled for Arbitration Panels of three arbitrators.

A reduced fee will be applied, depending on how far the process has progressed, for Select and Appoint services that are initiated but do not proceed to the point of issuing a Letter of Appointment. Organizations which specify the ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA) or its predecessor by name as part of a dispute resolution clause in their contract may qualify for a discount.

Annual Full $350.00 plus Goods and Services Tax (GST)
