Description
Provides short-term accommodation and support for women in crisis and their children.

Service offers:

  • a shelter for women and their children fleeing abuse, and women in crisis

Includes:

  • short-term accommodation
  • counselling, outreach, and follow-up support
  • walk-in assistance
  • public education
  • transportation to appointments and to the shelter if necessary

Additional COVID-19 safety protocols in place, such as masking when 2 meter physical distancing can no be maintained.

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • women
  • 18 years and older
  • with or without dependent children
  • in crisis or fleeing abuse
Application Process
Service Access: See below, To access service:
  • call the Crisis Line for an assessment prior to arrival
  • individuals are asked to call ahead to ensure availablity of space
Registered service dogs with paperwork are accepted. Proper documentation must accompany the service animal, and the resident must be able to care for the service animal themselves (such as walking, feeding, vet bills).
