Apprenticeship Grants

Service offers:

• a maximum $2,000.00 taxable grant for apprentices registered in a Red Seal trade
• a maximum $2,000.00 taxable grant for completing an apprenticeship and obtaining journeyman certification
• a grant is not a loan and does not need to be repaid

• Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons
• must complete first year/level (or equivalent) to apply for the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant
• provide proof of registration and completion using acceptable supporting documents
• be registered with a provincial authority as an apprentice in a designated Red Seal trade
• high school students are not eligible

• registered apprentice enrolled in adult learning classes
• registered apprentice taking professional development courses

• complete the online application 
• submit supporting documents for an application online, by mail, or in person at Service Canada Centres

Submit supporting documents within 28 days of an application, or it will be marked as incomplete.

It typically takes 28 calendar days to process and reach a decision on applications.
