Description
Offers community-based programs to offenders.

Service provides:

  • community-based programs to offenders through a network of community corrections offices and attendance centres throughout Alberta
  • opportunities to participate on a referral basis in rehabilitative programs that promote positive and productive behaviours delivered by agencies other than community corrections

Rehabilitative areas of focus include:

  • mental health
  • specialized treatment programs
  • education programs
  • life skills training
  • specialized programming for offenders convicted of sexual offenses and domestic / family violence

Programs include:

  • Attendance Centre Program
  • Community Work Service Program
  • Fine Option Program
  • Pre-Trial Release
  • Probation and Conditional Sentence Supervision
  • Temporary Absence Program

  • 18 years and older
Application Process
Service Access: See below, To access service:
  • visit the Case Management Office (CMO) counter on first court date
  • call Crown Prosecution office using contact information on website
  • contact personal lawyer
  • or obtain a referral from Crown Prosecutor
Lawyer or Crown Prosecutor must be contacted at least two weeks before first court date. Crown Prosecution office offers intake information and referrals only. Do not contact after admittance to program; contact probation officer instead.
