Description
Provides services to adults with developmental disabilities.

Service offers:

  • a range of programs for adults with developmental disabilities including the Community Access Program, Supported Independent Living Program, Residential Services Program, Outreach Program, and Employment Services Program

The Community Access program offers 1-on-1 support and opportunities for community engagement such as:

  • recreational or social activities
  • accessing amenities such as the bank, library, or restaurants
  • spiritual gatherings
  • volunteer opportunities
  • developing social skills, confidence, and fostering relationships

The Supported Independent Living program offers support and skill development to meet daily living needs of people living in their own home, such as training for:

  • managing monthly finances
  • planning and cooking healthy meals
  • developing home maintenance routines
  • problem-solving unforeseen challenges

The Residential Services Program is designed to be flexible and adaptable to meet the service needs of each individual and includes:

  • opportunities to enjoy inclusive lifestyles in natural settings
  • staffing supports available up to 24 hours a day, incorporating a person-centred approach
  • supports typically provided in shared living arrangements not exceeding 3 people

The Outreach Program supports participants who require minimal assistance (not exceeding 15 hours per month) to maintain independence in the community and includes:

  • supports tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual
  • temporary supports
  • crisis intervention
  • liaison services

The Employment Services Program specializes in strategies to overcome barriers to employment through a team approach that includes:

  • supporting the needs of both the individual and the employer to ensure a partnership that thrives
  • pre-employment skill development
  • interest assessments
  • specialized skill development
  • career exploration
  • assistance on the job
  • core skills training-decision making, personal responsibility, stress/anger management, interpersonal skills, confidence building, time management, the role of employee and supervisor, speed, accuracy, and meeting job requirements
