• maintaining and booking of town parks, trails, and recreational facilities (includes a 25 metre indoor swimming pool with hot tub and sauna, curling rink, twin ice arena, outdoor water park, skateboard park, BMX park, horseshoe pits, soccer pitches, hiking trails, ski hill, wildlife viewing platforms, neighborhood parks, playgrounds, bike trails, lake areas, and an off leash dog park)
• assessment and taxation (setting residential and non - residential tax rates, collection and calculating property taxes, assessment inquiries and appeals)
• protective services (fire services, bylaw enforcement, emergency management)
• planning and development (Municipal Development Plan (MDP), area structure plans, development permits, Land Use Bylaw information, building permits)
• utilities service (water usage, sewer services, garbage removal, pump station and water storage reservoir maintenance)
• public works (maintaining road systems, storm drainage system, fleet of vehicles and equipment, operating the recycling depot, snow and ice control, pothole / road repair and maintenance, roadside signs and traffic control, street cleaning / dust control on gravel roads, sewage collection system maintenance, checking and maintaining water levels at storm water management facilities, cleaning and maintaining roadside ditches, cleaning and maintaining key drainage courses)
