Municipal Enforcement

Service provides:

• enforcement of Provincial Statutes and Municipal bylaws for the purpose of enhancing, preserving, and maintaining the public peace

Includes:

• detecting criminal offences
• issuing 24 hour suspensions to drivers who are impaired by alcohol or a medical condition
• Operation: Safe Side - Walking - a program campaigning for diligent sidewalk maintenance and greater community health and safety
• Operation: Check - M.A.T.E - a program that allows the public to submit traffic concerns
• Operation: Speed Watch - a program to address speeding vehicles and traffic safety concerns

Peace officers turn all criminal cases, such as impaired driving, over to the police for further investigation.
