Ultrasound captures images using high-frequency sound waves.

Ultrasound is an imaging test that captures images of soft tissue organs, blood vessels and tissues using high-frequency sound waves (no radiation). Ultrasound is also known as sonography.

Not all tests are offered at all sites. Call the location for more information.

Service Access: Professional Referral Required, Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information. A legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18, or any patient that does not have the capacity to consent. Mature minors may be able to give consent.
