Provides support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System.

Service offers:

  • support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System by providing services in and out of court

In - court services include:

  • acting as a friend of the court to provide information to the court about community resources available
  • translation services where possible
  • entering pleas
  • speaking to sentence and adjournment
  • emotional support

Out - of - court services include:

  • support to Indigenous people accused of crimes and Indigenous victims of crime
  • conducting client intakes and preparing for cases
  • information on legal rights
  • assistance filling out forms, applications, and documents
Affiliation: Contracted with Alberta Justice and cost - shared by Justice Canada.
