Provides support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System.

Service offers:

  • support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System by providing services in and out of court

In-court services include:

  • acting as a "friend of the court" to provide information to the court about community resources available
  • translation services (where possible)
  • entering pleas
  • speaking to sentence and adjournment
  • emotional support

Out-of-court services include:

  • support to Indigenous people accused of crimes and Indigneous victims of crime
  • conducting client intakes and preparing for cases
  • information on legal rights
  • assistance filling out forms, applications, and documents

Affiliation: Contracted with Alberta Justice and cost-shared by Justice Canada.
