Service offers:

  • capacity building through cultural awareness workshops and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) workshops 

Includes:

  • providing Indigenous knowledge to individuals off reserve regarding issues such as (but not limited to) Indigenous awareness, cultural sensitivity, and Metis specific issues
  • information about human immunodeficiency virus / acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV / AIDS) as it relates to Indigenous people in their communities, in a manner that is culturally appropriate, relevant, and up - to - date
  • education, awareness, and prevention activities to reduce blood borne diseases such as hepatitis C virus (HCV), sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and tuberculosis within Indigenous communities
  • training for professionals to better serve Indigenous clients who currently are, or may be at risk of becoming, human immunodeficiency virus positive (HIV+)
