Provides programs and activities for parents / caregivers and their children.

Service offers:

  • a variety of drop-in and registered programs and activities for parents / caregivers and their children

Includes:

  • Books for Babies - a 4 session family literacy program that supports parents to read and share books with their babies, learn about what, when, how, and why to read to babies, explore books, and connect with other parents. Also includes free books, a book bag, and information to take home.
  • Creative Play and More - a weekly drop-in program for parents and children that promotes learning through play; explores math, science, and language concepts; and provides sensory play activities encouraging use of the 5 senses, circle time, interactive stories, and learning how to re - create activities at home
  • Developmental Screening - an Ages and Stages Questionnaire for parents to screen their child's development to determine whether there are any areas of possible concern that require further assessment or support
  • Drop-In Fun - a weekly drop-in parent and child playtime for families to learn, interact, and connect with other families in the community through crafts, stories, and special activities. Involves exploring topics and sharing information according to families' specific needs and interests.
  • Kids Night Out - a weekly evening drop-in group for families with children that focuses on fine and gross motor activities to promote child development. Includes parent-child activities and a light supper.
  • Playtime Drop-In - a weekly drop-in for parents and children that includes activity centres for children to explore, circle time, songs, stories, and opportunities for parents to interact with each other
  • Rhymes That Bind - a 10 session family literacy program where participants learn rhymes, songs, and simple movement games (finger games) that can help them with daily routines, promote bonding between parent and child, and support children's language development
