Service offers:

  • a police cadet program for youth

Includes:

  • opportunities to learn about law enforcement as a career
  • learning about the application process to become a police officer with Edmonton Police Service
  • enhanced physical fitness training
  • learning effective leadership skills
  • community service opportunities
  • developing an understanding of the police role in the community
  • learning effective leadership skills

Police cadets follow a paramilitary structure requiring students to follow regimental protocols including:

  • parades
  • drills
  • a defined rank structure among the participants

  • Enhanced Police Information Check (includes a review of immediate family members and residents of household)
  • fitness testing and panel interview
