  • a variety of programs and assistance to ensure that Alberta's communities are prepared to respond to disasters or emergencies

Includes:

  • leadership in the co-ordination, collaboration, and co-operation of all organizations involved in the prevention, preparedness, and response to disasters and emergencies
  • co-ordinating the delivery of vital services during a crisis through organizations including government, industry, municipalities, and first responders
  • operation of the Provincial Operations Centre which co-ordinates cross-government response to disasters and emergencies
  • disaster financial assistance programs
  • consultations and workshops
  • government emergency plans
  • grants, legislation, and publications
  • community and first responders services
