Provides a medically supported structured environment to support those withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs. Typically a 7-10 days stay.

A 24 / 7 medically supported service that helps those detoxifying from alcohol and other drugs in a safe, controlled setting.
Services may include:

  • stabilizing health
  • assessments

Structured programming:

  • information sessions
  • introduction to self-help groups
  • addiction treatment planning
  • discharge planning
  • referrals

This service is provided by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health Services contracted service providers.


Affiliation: Central Alberta's Safe Harbour Society for Health and Housing
