Allows for involuntary detention and treatment under certain circumstances and addresses the roles and responsibilities of review panels and of the Mental Health Patient Advocate.

Service provides:

  • the process for admission and treatment of an individual as a formal patient
  • identification of separate criteria and conditions for treatment of persons living in the community
  • the roles and responsibilities of review panels and of the Mental Health Patient Advocate
