Description
Provides intervention, safety planning, support, and referral services to older adults who are experiencing abuse.

Service offers:

  • intervention services to older adults who are experiencing abuse

Includes:

  • safety planning
  • resources
  • referral
  • home visits
  • follow-up supports

The team's main priority is dealing with cases where there may be a high risk of physical harm, or increasing threats to safety, or that may be criminal in nature. This is not an emergency service.

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • 65 years or older
  • who are experiencing abuse from a caregiver or loved one
  • and residing in Edmonton
Application Process
Service Access: Telephone Information Line, To access service:
  • call the Elder Abuse Intake and Information Line to complete an intake assessment with a Senior Resource Co-ordinator
  • staff will use the assessment to provide a referral to Seniors Protection Partnership or another more suitable program
This is not an emergency service and is not a direct report to Edmonton Police Services (EPS). For all life-threatening situations and crimes in progress, call EPS by dialing 9-1-1.
