Description
Offers public awareness and education on sexual exploitation / sex trafficking.

Service offers:

  • public awareness and education on sexual exploitation and sex trafficking
  • a wide variety of public education workshops

Includes:

  • workshops for faith communities
  • workshops for community, government, and law enforcement service providers

Youth Stop Trafficking and Exploitation Project (YSTEP) offers:

  • presentations for schools, post - secondary institutions, and conferences about the risks and signs of sexual exploitation / sex trafficking, and identifying community resources
  • one - on - one youth and adult peer mentoring for women, men, and transgender individuals who have experienced sexual exploitation at some point in their life, including coaching on overcoming barriers and building a positive life
  • meetings with youth at Edmonton Young Offender Centre (EYOS), Yellowhead Youth Centre (YYC), Youth Empowerment Support Services (YESS), and Catholic Social Services (CSS) Safe House, upon invitation
