- Offers families a voluntary process with a neutral mediator who practices non-evaluative, facilitative mediation in order to resolve disputes outside of court.
Service offers:
- a voluntary process to families to help resolve disputes outside of court
- a mediation report for participants that summarizes agreements
Types of issues commonly addressed include:
- parenting plans
- contact issues
- guardianship
- communication
- child support
- spousal support
- some property matters
Multiple sessions are often required to complete the process. Sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours.

- parents going through separation or divorce
- who both agree to take part
- who are dealing with child custody, access, and support issues
- who have court applications in Alberta Court of Justice or Court of King's Bench
- one party must have an annual income of less than $60,000.00 and at least one dependent child under the age of 18 or must have a child 18 years or older who is eligible for continued child support
