Description
Provides training and certifications to help obtain employment.

Service offers:

  • a 4 week program designed to assist Indigenous people with finding and maintaining long - term employment

The program includes learning about:

  • culturally - based life skills management
  • work ethic skills and employer expectations
  • basic computer instruction
  • resume writing and job search techniques

Standard occupational safety certification and exposure courses that may be included are:

  • Food Safe
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
  • cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid

The program runs every 4 weeks.

Eligibility

  • 18 years and older
  • who are Aboriginal
  • and residents of Edmonton longer than 6 months
