Description
Provides temporary, safe accommodation for women and their children experiencing family violence or another life crisis.

Service offers:

  • an emergency shelter providing short-term support of up to 3 weeks of temporary and safe accommodations for women and their children
  • a second stage transitional housing facility providing long-term support to assist women, with or without children, to gain the tools necessary to live a life outside the web of family violence

Emergency shelter includes:

  • in-house programming
  • information and support
  • referrals to appropriate community resources

Transitional housing includes:

  • furnished, independent apartments
  • long-term support
  • programming
  • security
  • 1-on-1 support for families
  • assistance with parenting, life skills, budgeting, nutritional meal planning, and more

Affiliation: Partially funded by the Government of Alberta - Ministry of Human Services. Partnered with the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to offer the Pet Safekeeping Program.
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to women:
  • 18 years and older
  • with or without children (dependent children under 18 years)
  • who are experiencing family violence or another life crisis
