Description
Provides support for those affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, or stalking.

Service provides:

  • free, confidential, and anonymous crisis support and information for those affected by sexual assault or abuse, sexual harassment, relationship violence, stalking, or anyone who is supporting someone through any of those experiences, regardless of their affiliation to the University of Alberta (U of A)
  • options, referrals, and resources
  • comprehensive counseling and psychological services to U of A students, staff, and faculty
  • support and information for partners, friends, and family
  • advising services for faculty and staff
  • awareness initiatives as well as education and prevention workshops on sexual violence
  • volunteer opportunities

Provides accompaniment and advocacy for individuals who:

  • choose to seek medical attention
  • choose to report to the police or University of Alberta Protective Services
  • are involved in a court process or similar proceedings at the University of Alberta
  • or are seeking institutional accommodation
Eligibility
Yes, Services targeted to:
  • students and staff of the University of Alberta
  • who have been affected by sexual assault or abuse, sexual harassment, relationship violence, or stalking
  • or are supporting someone affected by sexual assault or abuse, sexual harassment, relationship violence, or stalking
Services are available to everyone, however, regardless of being affiliated with the University of Alberta.
Application Process

  • drop in (no appointment required) for in-person, drop-in support
  • call during business hours for support over the phone 
  • or call or e-mail book an appointment
In-person drop-in, virtual, phone, and e-mail support available. Masks are required for those receiving in-person support. Surgical masks and N95s will be provided at the Centre if you do not have one on you.

Hours of Operation

Winter in-person drop-in support hours are:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (based on volutneer availability)

Spring and summer in-person drop-in support hours are:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Virtual drop-in support hours via Zoom are:

  • Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (dependant on volunteer availability)

Support is not available on statutory holidays.
