Offers a range of services such as one-on-one consultation for students and support for informal and formal resolutions.

Service provides:

  • information, referrals, advice, and assistance to students on University of Alberta policies and procedures

Includes:

  • assistance regarding academic standing appeals (required to withdraw) and grade appeals
  • impartial, third-party dispute resolution services (including informal restorative practice measures and mediation) regarding conflicts with professors and supervisors; allegations of cheating, plagiarism, and professional practice misconduct; discrimination and harassment; university residence disputes; and intellectual property disputes
  • operating in a confidential, independent, and advisory capacity
  • promoting best practices for diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and equity with a focus on fairness
  • individual and systemic recommendations to help improve students' personal and academic well-being
Affiliation: Partnered with the Association of Canadian College and University Ombudspersons (ACCUO).
