Description
Physiotherapy services including consultation, assessment, goal-setting and development of patient-specific treatment plans to address acute and chronic conditions, pain, mobility, balance, coordination and endurance issues and to improve functional independence.

Rehabilitation service to help restore maximum function and independence through:

  • education re: injury management and prevention
  • orthopedic injury or surgery rehabilitation
  • falls prevention
  • chronic pain management
  • functional restoration
  • neurological rehabilitation
  • gait, balance and coordination re-education and training

Services are available at hospital-based outpatient physiotherapy departments, community health centres, patient's homes, long term care centres and Supported Living facilities.

Eligibility
Yes, Outpatient services provided to adults without third party payer coverage and children with orthopedic conditions. Patients seeking physiotherapy services due to work-related injuries (WCB) and motor vehicle accidents (MVA) are not eligible for AHS publicly-funded outpatient services and will be redirected to private physiotherapy provider. Inpatient services provided to patients with functional limitations resulting from cardio-respiratory, orthopedic and/or neurological conditions. Community services provided to patients who require home assessment or unable to come to the clinic due to limitations with respect to transportation and/or physical condition.

  • Neuro Clinic
  • Community Exercise Programs/Aquatic Programs
