COVID-19 UPDATE: Alberta Supports Centres are temporarily suspending in-person services. Access supports and services online at alberta.ca/alberta-supports.aspx or call the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992 and 780-644-9992 in Edmonton. Provides financial assistance in emergency situations.

Service provides:

  • 24 hour emergency financial assistance to eligible individuals or families who do not have the resources to meet their emergent needs

Benefits are provided in unexpected emergency situations that:

  • are beyond the client's control
  • present a severe health or safety risk
  • and cannot wait until the next payment date

Benefits are limited to:

  • basic needs (food, clothing, household items, basic transportation)
  • emergency medical needs (such as prescription medication)
  • basic emergency dental
  • temporary shelter
