Service provides:

  • family therapy that helps families understand each other's needs and find better ways to work together

The therapy team uses evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including:

  • techniques to work on thoughts and actions
  • emotion-focused therapy to help couples improve their relationships
  • education to help families better understand mental health challenges
  • involving families in the process of change
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • families
  • who reside in the Edmonton area or Central or Northern Alberta
  • with complicated dynamics
  • and at least one child under 18 years old who has been diagnosed with a mental health disorder
Application Process
Service Access: Professional Referral Required, To access service:
  • referral must be made by a health professional, such as a physician or therapist, through Alberta Health Services centralized intake
