Description
Provides an educational course on trauma for adults who have experienced sexual assault and / or childhood sexual abuse.

Service provides:

  • a 6 hour, single session educational course on trauma for adults who have experienced sexual assault and / or childhood sexual abuse

Includes:

  • counselling process
  • how trauma can impact emotions
  • thoughts, body, and relationships
  • myths and definitions
  • grounding and other coping techniques

Does not provide counselling, but helps prepare participants for counselling and helps supporters understand what their loved ones are going through.

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • 18 years and older
  • who are survivors of sexual assault and / or childhood sexual abuse
  • or who are supporters interested in learning about trauma
This service is not for those who have been or are involved in counselling.
