Family Support Services


Description
Provides information and resources to families working to raise healthy, happy children.

Service provides:

  • information, resources, and support to families who may be coping with issues associated with poverty, isolation, and lack of extended family or other supports

Includes:

  • the opportunity to talk and work through issues
  • access to parenting classes and Health for Two (prenatal care)
  • advocacy services (assistance with issues such as probation, accessing government programs, appeal processes, and more)
  • free emergency diapers / formula
  • access to a small family community closet for emergency purposes with children's items
  • assistance with taxes
  • referral information to enhance resiliency and social supports in families and community
Key Provider: early childhood development workers, family support workers
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • families that have low income
  • with children 0 to 17 years old
  • and / or expectant mothers that have low income
Application Process
Service Access: Walk-in / Drop In Service, Appointments preferred. Not all walk - ins can be accommodated.Referral Process: No
