Offers a 20 week program providing support, education, and skill development to women who have experienced family violence.

Service offers:

  • a 20 week program to women who have experienced family violence

Includes:

  • support, education, and skill development
  • Aboriginal traditions, teachings, ceremony
  • family violence-specific parenting

Acceptable as a court-mandated domestic violence program, and can also be taken by voluntary clients.


Affiliation: Partnered with Alberta Health Services Addiction and Mental Health and Forensic Assessment and Community Services, and Edmonton Probation.
Key Provider: chartered psychologists, cultural helpers, Elders, registered social workers
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • Aboriginal women
  • 18 years and older
  • who are experiencing violence
Not appropriate for women who use power to control the relationship.
