Description
Offers a shelter for women experiencing abuse and their children.

Service offers:

  • safe, short - term accommodation (up to 21 days) for women experiencing abuse and their children

Includes:

  • referrals
  • advocacy support
  • a school maintenance program for children, includes transportation to the new school
  • counselling and support groups
  • assistance with transportation
  • childcare available Monday to Friday
  • outreach groups and follow - up support for securing housing and other services after leaving the shelter

Also provides shelter for clients' pets with someone knowledgeable at an undisclosed location, separate from the shelter due to health and allergies. When clients leave the shelter, time is provided to secure housing where the pet is welcome.

Affiliation: Partnered with the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to offer the Pet Safekeeping Program.
