- Provides courses that teach how to create safe communities through well-planned environmental design.
Service offers:
- courses on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), the science around the design and effective use of physical space to lead to a reduction in the incidence and fear of crime
Includes:
- strategies of access control, surveillance, territorial reinforcement, and maintenance
- 2 day basic course that focuses on reducing crime opportunities by modifying the environment, how the physical environment can have a direct relationship on human behaviour
- 4 day advanced course with classroom and field components, upon completion of which students will have the skills to complete inspections and reports as well as identify solutions for individual property up to neighbourhood scale level issues
