Description
Physiotherapy services for people whose activities of daily living have been affected by a neurological disorder.

This service works to maximize your ability to function and participate in daily life. Treatment may be one-to-one or in a group and may include:

  • treatment at the clinic or facility
  • symptom management
  • education to help you understand your condition and manage daily living
  • exercise program or other options

Key Provider: physical therapists (PT), physical therapy assistants
Eligibility
Yes, You must have:
  • a neurological condition affecting your central nervous system and require a physiotherapy assessment
  • no coverage by other payers such as Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) etc.
Application Process
Service Access: By Appointment, Contact care provider to arrange for an assessment to determine eligibility. If you qualify after your AHS-funded assessment, AHS will cover the cost of up to 6 treatments in 1 year, from April 1 to March 31. If you require additional treatments, they may be covered by other health benefits such as Blue Cross or other health benefits providers. If you have no other coverage available, your PT may be able to apply for a review of your case to see if more treatments can be provided. If more treatments are not approved, clients are responsible for paying for additional treatment sessions.
