Includes:

  • Coats for Kids and Families Too - a seasonal program (October to February) that collects and recycles lightly used winter clothing for distribution to children and families
  • Compassion Fund - emergency financial assistance for those in crisis
  • Emergency Food Hampers
  • annual community Christmas dinner with a visit and gifts from Santa
  • Heroes School Programs - character building for middle school children
  • Welcome to Sylvan Bags - comprehensive information on community life for community newcomers
  • Shake The Lake - an annual outdoor music and sports festival geared towards youth, children, and families
  • Arts Around the Lake and Gallery - an art collective and gallery dedicated to exhibits, education, and performances supporting the arts
  • Household Exchange Program - furniture for anyone needing household goods
  • monthly coffee meetings to exchange information on programs and offer support to community service groups
  • Women's Wellness Retreat - an annual, 1 day wellness retreat for women to learn about healthy lifestyles, well - being, build skills, and gain knowledge
  • Sylvan Family Matters - workshops on family violence awareness and prevention, workplace bullying, Little Warriors, budgeting, and life skills
  • Community Emergency Fund - financial assistance for major community emergencies such as uninsured fires
  • work experience for students which includes a rotation working in a non - profit agency and office space for students involved in government programs such as Service Canada
