• promotion of healthy communities by supporting the development and sustainability of facilities, projects, and programs that benefit residents

Includes:

• public transit services including daily service to Gasoline Alley and Springbrook
• Action Bus - a public transportation service available to citizens who cannot ride regular transit routes
• Trails and Open Spaces - open space development and recreational opportunities for the county
• per capita funding to 6 local recreation and culture boards which promote a wide range of recreation and culture services in rural areas
• grants which support organizations that provide community services to county residents
• Heritage Management Plan - ongoing guidance to heritage property owners, community volunteers, heritage organizations, and those with a general interest in heritage
• Social Planning - family and community support services, including community workers in Springbrook and Benalto
• Rural Beautification Program - provides an opportunity for residents to showcase their properties and be rewarded for their efforts
