Service offers:
- health benefit coverage to Albertans in low-income households who are pregnant or have high ongoing prescription drug needs
Provides coverage for:
- dental care
- emergency ambulance services
- essential diabetes supplies
- essential over-the-counter medications
- eye exams and glasses
- prescription drugs
This health plan includes children who are 18 or 19 years old if they are living at home and attending high school.
- Eligibility
- Yes, Service targeted to individuals who:
- live in Alberta
- are Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status in Canada
- are not receiving health benefits from other government programs
- and meet the program income criteria
- are pregnant
- or have high ongoing prescription drug needs
- or are leaving the Income Support or Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) programs due to excess income from employment, self-employment, or the Canada Pension Plan Disability program benefits
