Alberta Adult Health Benefit

Service offers:

• health benefit coverage to Albertans in low-income households who are pregnant or have high ongoing prescription drug needs

Provides coverage for:

• dental care
• emergency ambulance services
• essential diabetes supplies
• essential over-the-counter medications
• eye exams and glasses
• prescription drugs

This health plan includes children who are 18 or 19 years old if they are living at home and attending high school.

• live in Alberta
• are Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status in Canada
• are not receiving health benefits from other government programs
• and meet the program income criteria

• are pregnant
• or have high ongoing prescription drug needs
• or are leaving the Income Support or Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) programs due to excess income from employment, self-employment, or the Canada Pension Plan Disability program benefits
