- Offers 24/7 care for people with complex, unpredictable medical needs who require 24-hour onsite Registered Nurse assessment and/or treatment.
Continuing Care Home Type A is for individuals who may:
- have highly complex, unpredictable medical needs including chronic disease management
- experience serious changes in healthcare needs requiring unscheduled registered nurse assessment and intervention
- have a need for complex medication management and other treatments delivered by an registered nurse
- have health conditions requiring rehabilitation or dietary professional assessment and intervention
- have complex nutritional needs requiring diet or texture requirements
- have unpredictable behaviour, including increased safety risks to themselves or others
- require extensive assistance with all aspects of daily activities including grooming, hygiene, eating, transfers, mobility, etc.
- be unable to use a call system to get help
