- The Geriatric Cognitive Behavior Unit is an inpatient program for people 65 years of age and older who require a secure inpatient unit focusing on interdisciplinary assessment, intervention and rehabilitation.
This program assesses and treats older adults with complex medical issues and mental decline, including problems with thinking, behavior, and signs of dementia. These issues may get better with:
- Medication
- Changes in where they live
- Behavioral approaches
The program helps people to maintain or get back skills for daily activities through assessment and therapy that involves other areas of the Glenrose. Clients stay in the program for 35-40 days. It is linked with other Glenrose programs for older adults needing rehab and psychiatry services.
