Monthly Food Hampers

Distributes monthly food hampers to eligible families.

Service provides:

  • monthly food hampers available to eligible families with 5 to 7 days' worth of food assistance


  • daily storefront produce, baked goods, and a variety of other non-perishable food items that are available to anyone in need
  • Christmas hampers with additional supplies for a Christmas meal and gifts for children
  • community referrals linking food bank families with other local services

  • those with financial hardship that are not able to provide for themselves and their families
Storefront items available to:
  • anyone in need, including families not eligible for monthly hampers
Christmas gifts available to:
  • children 17 years and younger
Income and expenses are calculated and the balance remaining determines a client's eligibility for hampers.
Application Process
Service Access: Application Required, To access service:
  • drop in or contact to apply
  • social distancing procotols in place and all visitors required to wear a provided mask
To access hamper program, clients are asked to provide:
  • photo identification (ID)
  • proof of income (based by household)
  • proof of address
  • Alberta Health Care Card or birth certificate for dependants
Access to hampers is currently by appointment only. Households are limited to appointment per week. Food hampers can be accessed once every 30 days. No application needed to access storefront items.Referral Process: No
