Family Services

Service offers:

• a variety of supports for families with children with developmental disabilities

Includes:

• service plans developed for each family
• access to support at times most beneficial for the family
• respite services
• childcare supports and access to childcare or out-of-school care at a similar cost as parents of children without disabilities
• community support and assistance for a child to participate in a recreational, social, or community program or activity where the child's disability prevents the child from participating
• behavioural supports to help parents address specific behaviours exhibited by their child and to increase or reinforce the parent's skills and strategies in managing the child's behaviour
• developmental supports to assist parents in developing skills and strategies that support their child's development, based on assessed needs
• personal care supports to assist children who are totally or partially dependent on an adult for their personal care (includes self-care, eating, bathing, washing, and other personal hygiene needs)

• 17 years and younger
• with developmental disabilities
