Description
Provides pre and post-operative care for patients having minor surgeries that do not require an overnight stay. Also provides pre-surgery preparation for patients requiring an inpatient stay following surgery.

Provides pre-and post-operative care for patients having minor surgeries, including:

  • ears, nose, and throat (ENT)
    • myringotomy (surgery to relieve pressure in the ear)
    • adenoidectomy (to take out the adenoids)
  • general surgery
    • cholecystectomies (to take out the gallbladder)
    • hernia repairs
    • breast lumpectomies
    • laproscopic appendectomy (removal of appendix)
  • minor gynecology surgeries
    • dilation and curetage (D&C)
    • hysterocscopy (endoscopic examination of the uterus)
    • Bartholin's cyst removal
    • fibroidectomies/ myomectomies (removal of uterine fibroids)
    • insertion and removal of Intrauterine Devices
  • orthopedic (muscle and bone) procedures
    • knee surgery ( arthroscopies, ACL and MCL repairs)
    • shoulder surgery (arthroscopies, repairs)
    • foot surgery
  • vascular access
  • dental rehabilitation (cleaning, extractions, fillings)
  • plastic surgery
    • hand trauma repairs
    • breast reductions

People having day surgery are expected to be able to leave the hospital the same day as the surgery.
