Description
The Adult Specialized Rehabilitation Outpatient Program (SROP) is a short-term therapy program where therapists work with you to set goals and make plans. The goal is to improve your abilities and independence by using special skills, equipment and teamwork. You may have therapy alone or with others in groups.

Services may include:

  • physical therapy (help with movement and stability)
  • speech therapy (help with communication)
  • occupational therapy (help with daily activities)
  • recreation therapy (help with leisure activities)
  • psychology (help with emotions and thinking)
  • social work (help with finding support

Our focus is to help you recover and join back into your community.


Key Provider: occupational therapists (OTs), physical therapists (PTs), psychologists, recreation therapists (RTs), speech-language pathologists (SLPs), social workers (SWs)
Eligibility
Yes, Adults 18 years of age and older who:
  • have recently experienced a significant change in their ability to function
  • underwent a recent medical event or procedure (like surgery) that could benefit from short-term, intensive therapy to improve function
  • have complex rehabilitation needs that require specialized skills or technology only available at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital
  • are working on building endurance, strength, and managing pain to take part in intensive therapy
  • need no more than one person to help them move (if receiving therapy for mobility)
  • can do exercises at home and maintain their progress between therapy sessions
  • are in stable health and have been referred by a doctor or nurse practitioner
